France & Germany

2011. My ‘photography’ was slowly starting during an Erasmus Program in Aix-en-Provence. After a late summer at Les Rencontres d’Arles, we spent more time walking through the streets with our cameras, taking some lousy and a lot of nice pictures and sitting in the Irish Pub while Happy Hour, being more passionate about photography and beer then on our study subject ‘L’administration culturelle’.

…in Germany I rarely take photographs. It most of the time seems to be a waste of celluloid. I could blame the not-exciting architecture, a often very grey light, the feeling of being ‘home’. Noting seems to talk to me, visually. Who knows. There might be a correlation the fact that I am less ‘visual’ since I moved back, caring more about the stories, the content, whats behind what we see…?!
